Ministry of education? what's next, ministry of kabob?

busta what it is right now
busta what it is right now
busta what it is right now!
ok, i'm working on 4ish hours of sleep so that explains my temporary lack of geek expertise, but dave: come on! thankfully i know you don't read this. Probably because it's not neowin (neowin.net)
we just put in the new hard-drive in my boxz0r which had no problems. All of a sudden after a format or two we are installing the printer and ker-fucking-bam! BSOD [blue screen of death which if you see in xp is a very bad sign] and makes this God-awful noise like someone just put it's firewire male hookup into the network port of doom! so we shut 'er off (classic 'hyuck we don't know what we's doin' move) boot back, same noise. Boot into windows, no display all of a sudden, just a white flicker. After i got really choked and dave left, my calm zen returned to me and i began to troubleshoot like without the fanaticism and stupidity of two immature deprived young men on a deadline. Boom, turn on the tv and suddenly i see my desktop! whoops, forgot about dual-displays which makes that probably the stupidest thing i've ever done with a computer ever (good thing the restores didn't work!)
i never firgued out what the noise was from though. I once put new ram into my computer and waited till grey smoke fumed out, maybe that was dumber. Maybe higher education isn't a bad idea *giggle*

no further action taken

Perhaps technology needs to be reborn. Modern technology is almost entirely based around inventions from world war 2 (with the exception of digital, i mean trains planes and automobiles and the like) and the mechanized world now seems much more limited because of this self-imposed basis of creation. For example, take a grain auger. No matter how large, how long, or how heavy, the descending beam we are trying to support may be, it's almost human nature (in actuality it's simplistic thinking) to want to support it with "legs". Even though there are many ways to disperse weight, often far more effiecent than propping something up my mind anyways always leans towards that. Is this merely a product of association, because i see such structures regularly i associate the idea with the technology? well, yes and no.
I see the forked prong holding the grain auger because of taking a small scale step, working the physics to a larger scale, and just making things bigger.
So, what the fuck am i talking about, you ask? All these seemingly hap-hazard inventions come from a time period where the primary concern in the hearts of almost all people's was winning a never-ending war. They were all a back drop to something more pertinant, even though all these aspects would eventually lead to victory, by taking whole. The russians won world war 2 because they directly took whole, nothing was arbitrary and all was related to the prime motivator. Our lives seem inconsequntial because rather than moving the universe or field into one direction, all our energy is displaced into an array of things.
